“It will surely come, it will not be late”
This was the first reading for the daily mass reading yesterday, taken from the letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians.
Brothers and sisters:
I, a prisoner for the Lord,
urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received,
with all humility and gentleness, with patience,
bearing with one another through love,
striving to preserve the unity of the Spirit
through the bond of peace:
one Body and one Spirit,
as you were also called to the one hope of your call;
one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
one God and Father of all,
who is over all and through all and in all.But grace was given to each of us
according to the measure of Christ’s gift.And he gave some as Apostles, others as prophets,
others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers,
to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry,
for building up the Body of Christ,
until we all attain to the unity of faith
and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,
to the extent of the full stature of Christ.
I was so glad to read this passage, because it affirms what my CPG coreteam has discerned for our vision and mission. I thank God for He has asked me to really start listening to His prompting ever since we had our first meeting four months ago.
And thank You, Lord for answering my prayer. I was scared that the result of my personal discernment was not valid (only my own thought, not Your thought) because at that time, I still received many objections from others. But nearing to the date of discernment, You spoke to all the rest and we were able to come out with a common vision.
Thank You, Lord, for You never leave me alone and You have given me the courage to speak boldly of the vision that You have shown to me.
Just like what You have promised me:
“For the vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint; If it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late.” – Habakkuk 2:3-
The vision has really come and it was not late at all.
So, help us Lord, so that our community can really live this vision in our life. To be ones who know the way and able to show the way and go the way.
Amen.
